Overview of single-stage double-suction medium open pump

The S-type pump replaces the Sh-type single-stage double-suction, horizontal medium-opening centrifugal pump for conveying clear water and liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water (the high temperature of the liquid does not exceed 80℃). It is suitable for water supply and drainage of factories, mines, cities, and power stations, farmland drainage and irrigation, and various water conservancy projects. SM, SF, and SY pumps are all formed on the basis of S-type pumps by changing the material, sealing, structure, and other measures. They are suitable for conveying muddy and sandy water quality or media with wear-resistant requirements, corrosion-resistant requirements, or oils.

Structural characteristics of single-stage double-suction medium-open pump

1. The suction ports and discharge outlets of S, SM, SF, and SY pumps are all below the axis of the water pump, perpendicular to the axis and in a horizontal direction. The pump housing is opened in the middle. There is no need to disassemble the water inlet, discharge pipe, and motor (or other motor) during maintenance. From the direction of the drive end to the pump, the water pumps are all rotated in a clockwise direction, and can be produced as counterclockwise according to needs. Special requirements should be made when ordering.

2. The main parts of S, SM, SF, and SY pumps are: pump body, pump cover, impeller, shaft, double suction sealing ring, bushing, bearing, etc.

3. After static balance verification, the impeller is fixed with a bushing and bushing nuts on both sides, and its axial position can be adjusted by bushing nuts. The axial force of the impeller is balanced by the symmetrical arrangement of its blades, and the residual axial force is borne by the bearings at the shaft end.

4. The pump shaft is supported by two single-row centripetal ball bearings or four centripetal thrust ball bearings. The bearings are mounted in the bearing bodies at both ends of the pump body and lubricated with butter or dilute oil.

5. The water pump is directly driven by a motor through an elastic sleeve pin coupling.

6. The shaft seal is a soft packing seal. In order to cool and lubricate the sealing chamber and prevent air from entering the pump, a packing ring is installed between the packing. When the pump is working, a small amount of high-pressure water flows into the packing chamber through the trapezoidal groove on the open surface of the pump cover or the external unsealed pipe parts, which act as a water seal.
